So you probably heard of Questbridge by now and how some students on Youtube received a generous scholarship through them. But what exactly is Questbridge?

This article will deliver straightforward answers to your questions, saving you the hassle of having to research and watch hour-long videos to find. After all, I know firsthand how valuable a high school student's time can be. With that said, let's get right into it!

What exactly is Questbridge?

Brief:

Questbridge is an organization that connects high-achieving, low-income students to top universities through their application process, also known as their National College Match (NCM) program.

More details:

Their ultimate goal is not only to get these students accepted into one of their 48 partner schools by making them stand out as Questbridge Scholars but also to have them receive full-ride scholarships or other types of generous financial aid from the college they will be attending. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

They host two annual programs: the College Prep Scholars Program (CPS) for Juniors and The National College Match (NCM) for Seniors. Each program contains small scholarships, which you could choose to apply in your application. However, these tend to be more competitive than the programs themselves.

What type of scholarships can scholars receive?

Brief:

CPS scholars are 5x more likely to be selected for the National College Match, have the chance to attend a summer program at a top college for free, receive one of their small scholarships called Quest for Excellence Awards, and attend a private college fair hosted in the spring.

NCM finalists can apply for Early Decision up to 12 colleges for admission with a full ride. If they do not "match" to a school, they pass on to the Regular Decision round, where they can apply to the same schools but not for a full scholarship. However, many scholars still receive generous aid through this round.

More details:

Each program has more awards to them, but the ones mentioned above were the most notable. Here is the complete list of awards for each program:

Who can apply?

Brief:

Any student with good grades and whose family is considered low-income, meaning anything below 100k in household income.

More details:

For most students, the academic requirements shouldn't be a problem. It's a given that Questbridge prioritizes students in need of financial aid and whose families could not pay for college, but this isn't always the case, for there isn't an income limit. So if you consider yourself a good student with drive and got the grades and income forms to prove you are worthy of a scholarship, you already have a high chance of qualifying.
